Cape cod addition. The homeowners goal was to economically add 2 new bedrooms to the second floor of their 1950s cape cod house. One of the goals of the project was to keep the existing front dormer, which adds character to the house. Two new dormers were designed, and the layout reconfigured to create new living space without requiring modifications to plumbing or existing first floor spaces.
Architecture New 36' x 46 residential shop/garage. The design featured 10' walls and scissor trusses to provide an open cathedral ceiling over the 2-bay garage At the owner's request, a second-floor storage loft was added using room trusses. Wood-frame/truss construction was determined to meet the project budget, and allowed expedited construction.
